Abstract: International law of the sea can be defined as a body of law governing regime of the seas and regulating relations between subjects of international law in connection with their activities on the seas and oceans in the world. The aim of this study is to identify the key moments of the development of international law of the sea, the most relevant features of the existing arrangement which is mainly based on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (1982), and institutional support of application of international law of the sea.
