Abstract: The study outlines the legal framework of mediation and the legal status of mediators under the Bulgarian law. It also comments on some of the European acts concerning mediation and implementation of the Directive 2008/52/ЕC requirements in the Bulgarian legislation system. The paper clarifies certain possibilities for applying mediation in cases of civil and administrative disputes.
